Dog's senior night spoiled by Dayton 0 - 63.

Dayton preformed a perfect display of the pass and run offense, they even showed their great passing ability when they were up 49 - 0. I guess beating someone in the playoffs a couple times, equals a 63 point shutout when you get the chance. Maybe with another UIL realignment will get the chance to pay them back like we did at Rice stadium a few years ago.

I know good teams get beat sometimes but I really feel that Nederland did not perform like they are capable of. The offense was only able to pickup 4 first downs the whole game which left Trahan punting 8 times during the game. Punting was the only positive movement of the night, Trahan seems to knock out a record punt when he gets a high snap and has to punt on the run.

Gutierrez limped off in the 2nd quarter and another sophomore (Paul Roy) had to step up and fill some mighty big shoes. Roy played well but Dayton was just too much for the Dog "D".

Next week will be Lumberton's last home game and will be a major night for their senior led team. I expect them to came out strong and try to keep the momentum. The Bulldogs will need everybody clicking 110% to stop the Raiders new found glory of winning.
