Determination to be the Best

The field at Bulldog stadium has been the site of a rigorous work out studio for the last four summers but this year new dirt was spread and the field was blocked off forcing the kids to find some new locations to stay in shape through the summer.

Earlier this month I decided to strike out and see how the change had affected the normal summer build up. It did not take me long to find out that 95% of the football team was indeed working out, running, and pushing themselves to meet personal goals.

During my travels I found an individual that actually started his own quest a few days after losing to LaMarque in the playoffs. 2005 graduate Offensive Lineman Blake Amy seen some quality playing time in the later half of the 2003 season and was bound and determined to see even more

for the 2004 season.

So a few days after the La Marque game Blake joined many other Americans and kicked off the Atkins plan along with some good Old fashion running and lost 28 pounds. Blake then checked himself in at the Mid-County Fitness Studio hitting the weights 5 days a week with Chip Hammonds and continued the running program. Blake is now a very lean 200 and has shaved .4 off his forty. Along with Blake I found many others that have given up a lot of summer break and it shows.

The general public will be able to purchase tickets Tuesday Aug. 3rd - Friday Aug. 6th. I would get in line early Bulldog stock looks good and is on the rise.
