CAMP FUN

What is Camp Fun? This has been # 1 question that I have been asked in the past few years. I do my best to attend as many days as possible during Camp Fun but I have never published any information about it in the past. I thought I would share a little of it this year.

Each year in February the Nederland High School Athletic Staff holds an off season Football program known as Camp Fun. Problem is this Camp does not require any camping gear and the fun part is usually only fun for the on lookers.

What you do need at this camp is a strong will power, determination to be the very best you can be and the ability to learn discipline, Teamwork and dedication.

The so called “Camp Ground” is broke up into eight different rigorous training stages that specialize in building some form of characteristic. Of course some build sheer strength, Agility and endurance while others concentrate on working as a team.

The overall program enriches the mind and encourages each individual to give that little more or go that extra mile. It is the first step in becoming a well discipline group of individuals that function as a team.

At the end of the day each one fights the pain to stand tall and sing Home on the Range, each one mentally exhausted, physically drained but extremely proud to be apart of such a great program. A Black and Gold Bulldog.

During the program each individual is graded based on competitions and daily performance. Those that score the highest are rewarded with being selected as a Champion.

This years Champions are: Ju Ju Nunez, Wade Beagle, Jake Askew, Wesley Weaver, Chase Gentile, Taylor Guidry, Travis Tallent and Tyler Nemeth. Congratulations to these Champions and the rest of the Bulldog Team on a very successful Camp Fun.
